All-candidates debate set for tonight has been cancelled

By Rosalind Russell – An all-candidates debate set for tonight on Manitoulin Island has been cancelled.

The Manitoulin Expositor was set to host the event this evening in Mindemoya but with the impending storm watch, it has been cancelled to ensure the safety of motorists.

Between 20 to 40 centimetres of snow is expected to start falling in the local area later today.

The candidates running in the Algoma-Manitoulin Riding include incumbent, Independent Mike Mantha, Liberal Reg Niganobe, New Democratic Party candidate David Timeriski, Progressive Conservative Bill Rosenberg and Green Party Maria Legault.

The election is set for February 27th.
