By Rosalind Russell – Anglican Archbishop Anne Germand will oversee the 100th anniversary celebrations of St. George Church in Espanola this weekend.
Reverend Beverly Van der Jagt says there will be a joint service with the United Church this coming Sunday and a confirmation ceremony overseen by the Archbishop at 10:30 am.
Archbishop Germand will also make a unique blessing of the 100-year-old structure.
The public is invited to attend.
Following the service, Archbishop Germand will attend a celebration luncheon to mark the historical occasion.
One hundred years ago the cornerstone was laid in, construction began, and St. George Anglican Church formally opened its doors on October 2nd, 1924.
