By Rosalind Russell – The Ontario government is providing $735,000 through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation to the Town of Blind River for two economic development projects.
Blind River Mayor Sally Hagman says $450,000 will go towards installing a new roof membrane on the Blind River Community Centre, and $285,000 to renovate six public-use sites including four outdoor playgrounds and two courts used for pickleball and tennis.
Blind River is committed to rejuvenating its existing infrastructure, she adds, and this funding helps ensure our community centre is updated and remains open for decades to come.
