By Rosalind Russell – A Sudbury born woman raised in Elliot Lake is assuming the presidency of Cambrian College.

The Board of Governors of Cambrian College has announced that after a comprehensive nationwide search process, Kristine Morrissey has been selected as the next President of Cambrian College.

Morrissey has worked at Cambrian College since January 2011 serving as part of the institution’s senior leadership team, most recently as the Vice President, Finance, Administration, International and Research.

Morrissey says the college has a strong team and a dynamic strategic plan in place, so she is proud of what they have accomplished and is looking forward to building on those successes.

Morrissey begins her new role on May 15th.

Morrissey replaces Bill Best, who departed Cambrian College in January to assume a new role at the University of New Brunswick and be closer to family.
