By Rosalind Russell – To encourage more girls and young women to pursue careers in skilled trades, Cambrian College is again hosting its Jill of All Trades event for high school girls, in person and on Zoom.
College communication director, Dan Lessard, says an industry panel discussion is being held next Wednesday, October 25th at 11:00 a.m. in Cambrian’s eDome, which will also be available on Zoom.
Keynote speakers will include local industry leaders such as Dustin Ceretti, the Mine Director at Glencore and Gord Gilpin, Director of Ontario Operations at Vale.
Lessard says the in-person main event will be held on Thursday at Cambrian’s main campus the next day, Thursday, October 26th with students from Manitoulin Island and across the Sudbury District taking part.
He adds activities include tours of Cambrian’s trades and technology labs, hands-on demonstrations of trades, and sessions with industry professionals.
