By Rosalind Russell – 18-year-old Lia Shank of Sturgeon Falls was one of over 1,400 students who received nearly $1.5 million in bursaries and scholarships during last week’s financial awards night at Cambrian College.
Shank is enrolled in Cambrian’s Welding and Fabrication program.
Speaking at the ceremony, she said she’s grateful for the support it provided, and it’s given her confidence to dream bigger.
More than 900 scholarships and bursaries are provided annually to students.
