(SPANISH, ON) – OPP respond to a suspicious vehicle at the Spanish Marina
On July 9, 2024, shortly after 9:30 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a suspicious pick-up truck at the local marina in the Town of Spanish.
Police attended the marina and located the pick-up truck running with the driver asleep at the wheel. Police woke the driver and while speaking to the driver police determined alcohol had been consumed and a subsequent arrest was made. The driver was then transported to Manitoulin (Espanola) detachment for further testing.
As a result, Corey STOLAR, 54 years-of-age from Spanish was charged with: Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 8, 2024.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the pick-up truck was impounded for seven days.
