By Rosalind Russell – At a special meeting on Monday evening, council approved the sale of 80 Dieppe for residential development to a numbered Ontario company.
The over three acre piece of property, which formerly housed a plaza, has been sold to build 18 new housing units, helping to alleviate the housing shortage in the city.
City Manager of Economic Development, Steve Antunes, says the minimum of 18 townhouses is expected to be completed with 36-months with construction to begin shortly.
He adds work on the zoning amendment process, site plan control, and other legalities are all in place with council’s approval.
Following his presentation, council unanimously approved the sale, and the legalization process will now begin.
