By Rosalind Russell – Elliot Lake’s new Director of Finance will be coming on board in two weeks, so council has appointed a temporary deputy treasurer.
Andrew Ault will begin his new duties on April 14th.
In the interim, the council appointed a temporary deputy treasurer following the recommendation of Interim CAO Rob deBortoli in a memo dated March 19.
DeBortoli says the Acting Director of Finance/ Deputy Treasurer recently resigned.
He recommended “appointing the Director of Clerks and Planning Services as the Deputy Treasurer from March 24 to April 14, 2025, or until the Director of Finance is appointed by by-law.”
The council approved the appointment agreeing with deBortoli that it will ensure continued financial oversight and compliance with legislative requirements.
