Elliot Lake taking on another national challenge

By Rosalind Russell – The City of Elliot Lake is taking on another national challenge, this time for participACTION.

The city has created the Get Active Elliot Lake Challenge to work towards having the municipality named Canada’s Most Active Community and win $100,000.

It is a part of the ParticipACTION Community Challenge, a national physical activity and sports initiative that encourages everyone in Canada to get active throughout the month of June.

Residents are encouraged to get outdoors, be active, and highlight their experiences through photography during the month in three categories: kids, family, and individual activities.

The challenge begins June 1st.

There are three categories you can participate in:

1. Kids Active Moments: Photos capturing children engaged in active play, sports, or exploration.

2. Family Adventures: Images depicting families participating in outdoor activities together, including parents, children, and furry companions.

3. Individual Fitness Journey: Photos highlighting individuals pursuing their fitness goals through activities like hiking, running, cycling, or any other form of physical exercise.

Submit your photos by visiting elliotlake.ca/participaction between June 1st and June 30th.
