Environmental contributions given platinum status

By Rosalind Russell – Two Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon schools recently received the EcoSchools Canada certification for the 2023-2024 school year.

Education director, Paul Henry says École catholique La Renaissance in Espanola and École secondaire catholique Champlain in Chelmsford were each awarded a platinum level certification. He adds with the designation, the EcoSchools Canada Program recognizes the work of schools in promoting environmental learning and climate action.

Henry says student-run environment clubs carried out projects that had an ecological impact in various areas such as greening, reducing energy consumption, reducing waste and preserving the environment.
