By Rosalind Russell – Espanola’s Beer Store has kicked off the Third Annual Heart of Gold Radiothon raising funds for families with children with cancer.
Taryn Bond, the manager of the local outlet, presented the Moose 99.3FM – CJJM Espanola with a donation of $500 on Wednesday to go towards the upcoming radiothon, which will be held on Friday, September 20th.
The annual event is held to raise funds going directly to families across the North, including five in Espanola, the North Shore Corridor and on Manitoulin Island through the Northern Ontario Families of Children With Cancer organization.
The NOFCC helps some 400 families in the North distributing an average of $40,000 per month in financial and other supports.
