Espanola church hosting ribbon-cutting to mark mobility access

By Rosalind Russell – An Espanola church has been undergoing renovations and plans to celebrate its new accessibility features with a ribbon cutting.

Committee spokesperson Pat Parker says the project was funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Enabling Accessibility Fund.

He adds the new ‘Accessibility Lift’ will give access to those with mobility issues to the main hall, as well as social and kitchen areas in the building.

Parker says the ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the Espanola United Church at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 9th.

He adds the new light box in the church sanctuary featuring one of the stained-glass windows from the former Webbwood United Church will also be available for viewing followed by a coffee and cake.
