By Rosalind Russell – Espanola council has approved a rezoning bylaw that will allow for a new distribution centre in town for Intelcom, a privately held company that delivers parcels across Canada, the US and Australia. It has clients such as Amazon, Etsy and eBay.
The centre will share the same building that now houses Quesada, a Mexican franchise, housed at 551 Centre Street in Espanola.
The previous owner had a warehouse on the site as an existing use 40 years and there were no objections.
With the rezoning approval, it is expected the new distribution centre will open soon.
