By Rosalind Russell – Espanola High School is officially certified as a Platinum EcoSchool for the third year in a row.
The school has several eco-initiatives that have become part of the day-to-day routine for students such as recycling food waste and worm production.
They also run a wood waste reuse program, gardening and landscaping programs as well as a thrift store program.
The school is one of over 1,700 schools across the country that participates in the EcoSchools Canada program.
