By Rosalind Russell -The Espanola Volunteer Firefighters are hosting a recruitment open house next week.
Fire Chief Mike Pichor says the department is hoping to attract new volunteers to train as firefighters.
To that end, he says they are hosting an open house next Wednesday, November 27th, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the fire hall (located at the intersection of Second Avenue and Mead Blvd.)
He says it is usually an evening where the contingent practices different procedures so visitors will get an idea of the training and work involved in firefighting.
He adds volunteers should be a resident or property owner, at least 18 years old, and available at odd hours.
He says application forms are available at the municipal office or fire hall and can be downloaded from the town site, www.espanola.ca .
