Espanola’s Game and Fish Club supports added improvements to local trails

By Rosalind Russell – Black-Creek Sno Shoe Trails will see more improvement thanks to landowners, the Espanola Game and Fish Club, giving permissions to host a $5,000 fundraiser.

Trail volunteer Dennis Lendrum says the want to raise the funds to repair or replace the safety fencing near the parking area and the park grounds itself.

He says they also need more gravel for the main trail, which will make the trails more accessible for those with mobility issues.

Lendrum says the Women of Faith, a local organization, kicked off the fundraising with a $300 donation on Sunday.

He says anyone wishing to donate, can contact him via Facebook adding they hope to complete the fundraising within the next few months to have the work completed by summer.
