Final Strategic Plan for Espanola nears completion

By Rosalind Russell – Since January, The Town of Espanola has been undertaking the preparation of a Strategic Plan to chart its course for the term of Council and beyond.

Town Clerk Joseph Burke says in September of 2022, the town issued a request for proposals for services related to the development of a new strategic plan awarding the contract to David King and Bill Winegard, both experienced consultants in the field.

Burke says the public consultations have now been completed and the data for a public survey with over 500 respondents is being compiled for the final recommendation.

He adds as the process is nearing completion, it is expected that a refined overview of the findings will be presented soon, and a final plan will be brought before town council for approval in late June.
