By Rosalind Russell – Sables-Spanish Rivers Firefighters have lent their support to a national charity.
On Tuesday, the contingent of volunteers gathered for some training but also to welcome Trevor McVey.
They presented a cheque of $2089.94 to Muscular Dystrophy Canada, the official charity of firefighters across the country.
The funds go towards ongoing research as well as supports for those who are fighting the disease.
The firefighters raised the funds by hosting boot drives and fireworks during the year and thank the wider community for their ongoing efforts.
