By Rosalind Russell – A flag-lowering was held in Espanola at town hall Monday morning for Victims and Survivors of Crime Week.
Victims Crisis Assistance Service Executive Director for Manitoulin and the North Shore Amy Collins says she appreciates Espanola Mayor Doug Gervais signing the Proclamation.
She says the event also included the flags being lowered and a moment of silence for those lost to acts of crime.
Collins adds the goal of Victims and Survivors of Crime Week is to raise awareness about the issues facing the victims… as well as the services, assistance, and laws in place to help.
She says if anyone is interested in volunteering, they can contact their office.
