Fundraising continues for rehabilitation of Centennial Arena

By Rosalind Russell – The community at large continues to support the rehabilitation of Centennial Arena with students and families supporting the initiative.

École catholique Georges Vanier students and staff hosted a tag day resulting in a $1,000 donation to the Jamie & Jo-Ann Armstrong Centennial Arena Fundraiser.

The Elliot Lake Skating Club also held a movie fundraiser on June 14th adding another $1,000 to the fund.

Another $6,000 was donated by the children of Doreen and Malcolm Doyle, a couple who were early settlers of the city.

And, $2,600 was be matched by Retirement Living as part of the Elliot Lake Retirement Living Current/Past Tenant Challenge netting another $5,200.

Currently the fund sits at $431,968 with a goal of half-a-million dollars.
