Go Fund Me set up to help victim of residential fire

By Rosalind Russell – The Manitoulin community is drawing together to assist an Island woman who lost her home to fire.

Manitoulin OPP Constable John Hill says a fire closed the highway in the Bidwell area of Highway 540 heading to Little Current on Wednesday.

He says the investigation revealed the fire was deemed non-suspicious.

A friend of the victim who lost everything in the blaze, Cathy Prenter, says she has set up a Go Fund Me for Lynne Labranche who was treated for smoke inhalation and released.

Prenter says the community is already providing Labranche with clothing and other vital needs.
