Head-to-head live painting battle coming to Espanola

By Rosalind Russell – Love to paint and want to challenge yourself? A unique head-to-head live painting battle planned for Espanola might be right up your alley.

North Bay’s Nick’s Place For Us Executive Director Karrie Emms says in partnership with Gateway To the Arts, they will host five live art competitions featuring artists from across Ontario.

She says the organizations have partnered with Espanola High School for the September 23rd competition, which will take place at the Sukhdev Restaurant on Centre Street.

Emms says there is a cash prize and an opportunity for the winner to move on to regional, national and global competitions.

She says they eventually hope to make the events a viable fundraiser to ensure that Nick’s Place can maintain its free youth programming for low-income families in communities hosting the events.

Emms adds sponsorships are welcomed.
