By Rosalind Russell – Highway Six/Centre Street in Espanola has reopened to traffic along the four-lane.
Public Works told council the work has been nearly completed on Highway Six/Centre Street and all four lanes of the highway reopened this week to traffic.
This was the third year for reconstruction of the byway, with this year’s work extending from the Queensway Avenue to Second Avenue.
Council has approved the application for grant approvals to finish another major section from Station Road to Tudhope Street in 2024.
Most of the costs of that project will come from reserves and the town expects to hear about the grants from the two upper levels of government soon.
