By Rosalind Russell – Several Manitoulin Island communities will be affected by a hydro outage this weekend.
Hydro One says the communities of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory and Assiginack Township will be without power this Sunday due to planned upgrades on the grid.
The outage is scheduled from nine am to three pm and will affect just over 1,200 customers.
Another planned outage will also take place on the same date at six am in the west end, Sheshegwaning First Nation area, Silver Water, Evansville, Meldrum Bay and Burpee with just over 1,100 customers to be affected there.
That outage is set to end at 3 pm.
