Indigenous Friendship Centre opening in Elliot Lake

By Rosalind Russell – The Enji-Maawinjidiyang Indigenous Friendship Centre in Elliot Lake is opening its door next month.

Coordinator Chasity Morningstar says the centre will be hosting a grand opening on August 15th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

She says the celebration will consist of a ceremonial ribbon cutting to recognize the centre as the 30th Indigenous Friendship Centre to open in Ontario.

Morningstar adds tents will also be set up for traditional drumming, dancing, and socializing.

The public is invited to attend.
