By Rosalind Russell – One of the North Shore Corridor’s most popular camps is getting a major revamp, thanks to a financial grant from the province.
According to Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli, the Ontario Trillium Foundation is providing $200,000 to the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario.
He says the funds will be used to repair and renovate John Island Camp to increase safety and accessibility and “allow the camp to continue providing youth leadership opportunities for years to come.”
He adds the financial support will enable the YMCA to make it easier for residents to access critical programming and activities at this camp located within the North Channel of Lake Huron.
