By Rosalind Russell – The Learning Disabilities Association of Sudbury recently recognized individuals and community partners who have contributed to the successful and continuous growth of the organization including Valérie Larivière and Roxane Bigras, two Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon staffers.
Bigras, a teacher at École Alliance St-Joseph in Chelmsford, was presented one of the Outstanding Educator Awards, which recognizes her commitment to evidence-based teaching practices, her continuous pursuit of learning as well as her dedicated efforts to support students with learning disabilities.
Larivière, Lead in Mental Health and Wellness at CSC Nouvelon, is the recipient of the Ron Lessard Outstanding Parent Award.
This award recognizes her dedication to understanding learning disabilities and supporting her child, as well as her contributions to the community.
Education Director Paul Henry, extended congratulations to both woman noting the remarkable work and efforts they have made in support of students with learning disabilities.
