By Rosalind Russell – Over 700 locations across Canada are shining a light on disability-inclusive hiring.
They’re taking part in Light it Up for National Disability Employment Awareness Month, by shining purple and blue lights today.
CEO of the Ontario Disability Employment Network Jeannette Campbell says the conversation this event starts are having a lasting effect that can affect change.
She also says even though the employment rate of working age Canadians who have a disability is up, access to employment is still a major barrier.
The CN Tower and Niagara Falls are a couple of the famous landmarks that are involved in today’s event.
