Local youth wins provincial recognition for volunteerism

By Rosalind Russell – The Massey Agricultural Society is celebrating a win by one of its young members.

Adelyne Holden Patenaude of Massey is one of this month’s three youths chosen by the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies for her dedication to the local society.

According to the release, she received the accolades for overseeing the successful Grow A Chick Program.

Patenaude is a well-known volunteer with the annual Massey Agricultural Fair that takes place every August.

She is also a member of the local 4H Club as a volunteer and director.

Officials say the awards are an opportunity to profile up to three youths every month and build community leaders.
