Mantha responds to removal from NDP caucus

By Rosalind Russell – Michael Mantha, the MPP for the Algoma-Manitoulin riding, released a short statement yesterday afternoon about his removal from the provincial NDP caucus.

Mantha says he will continue to serve the people of Algoma-Manitoulin as he sits as an independent Member of Provincial Parliament.

He states as a lifelong believer in safe workplaces, he is fully committed to participating in the independent process now underway.

Mantha adds he will not be commenting further on the matter.

NDP leader Marit Stiles announced on Saturday that Mantha was being removed from the NDP caucus pending an independent third-party investigation – the specifics of which were not released by the party – in an effort to “create a safe workplace.”
