By Rosalind Russell – Elliot Lake council passed a bylaw last night to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Mt Dufour Ski Area for the use of the parking lot at the ski hill.
Economic Development Manager Steve Antunes says the agreement details the responsibility of the ski hill to manage snow removal as well as their requirement to insure the premises, and provisions for the ATV club and the city to still access the lot for their required uses.
He says the term of the agreement is for five years and is in effect during the “Ski Season” which runs from December 1st to April 15th.
Antunes also stressed access is not restricted, but it is a parking lot, not a walking track or dog park, and the public uses it at their own risk.
