Multiple collisions keep police busy – one fatality 

 By Rosalind Russell – A person is dead following a four-vehicle crash on Highway 17, east of Bruce Mines. 

That’s according to the OPP who says officers responded to the crash at about 6:00 a.m. yesterday morning (Nov. 26). 

OPP say a 57-year-old man from has died but did not provide any other details at press time. 

The OPP throughout the North Shore Corridor responded to several minor motor vehicle collisions on area highways within an 18-hour period, from the start of the snow fall Monday night including two in the Nairn area Monday evening and then again, yesterday morning,  

Highway 540 on Manitoulin Island was also closed for a short time on Monday evening when a tractor-trailer jackknifed. 

The OPP stress motorists should give themselves extra time for their commute and to slow down adjusting to winter conditions.
