Nairn & Hyman Township looking for interested individuals for council

By Rosalind Russell – A vacancy exists on the Township of Nairn and Hyman Council for one councillor position following the resignation of Guy Despatie in mid-February.

CAO Belinda Ketchabaw says at this week’s council meeting, Council passed a resolution to declare the seat vacant and decided to fill this vacancy through an open call for qualified applicants.

She adds interested applicants will be required to complete a Nomination Paper – Form 1 and a Council Vacancy Application Form and submit them to the municipal office by April 4th (at 2 pm).

Ketchabaw says the applications will then be reviewed at the regular meeting of the Council on April 14th. and Council will vote to appoint a Councillor.  

The forms are available on the website at https://nairncentre.ca/notice-of-council-vacancy/ or can be requested from the Municipal Office.
