By Rosalind Russell – An open house hosted by Nairn & Hyman Township will be held in Nairn Centre next week to provide an update on the proposed disposal of tailings in the Agnew Lake region.
The township learned late last fall that there were plans put in place to transport uranium tailings and niobium to the Agnew Lake Tailings site from Nipissing First Nation.
It follows a public meeting with over 100 people in attendance in mid-December.
The open house will include a report from the Ministry of Mines, and a second one from Hutchinson Environmental Studies.
There will also be time for questions from the audience.
The open house takes place next Tuesday, February 18th at 7 pm at the Nairn Community Centre.
