New female volleyball league being established in Espanola

By Rosalind Russell – An Espanola woman is looking for interest in forming a new female volleyball league for participants from across the North Shore Corridor.

Torrie Trottier says the youth volleyball teams need to be registered with the Ontario Volleyball Association in May.

She says they want to start up two teams; The Espanola Hornets for girls 14-16 years old and the Espanola Dark Angels for girls 11 to 13 years old.

As a new league they will also need volunteers, coaches, trainers, and managers 18 years of age and older.

Trottier says their home games would be in Espanola, adding they will play against Sudbury, Chelmsford, and a couple of other communities with one practice and one game per week.

For more information and/or to register or volunteer, call or text 226-724-2071 for inquiries.
