New medical van arrives in Espanola

By Rosalind Russell – A new regional medical van providing transportation throughout the LaCloche Foothills region has arrived and will soon begin its service.

The LaCloche Care Van offers public transportation to residents of Espanola, and the townships of Nairn & Hyman, Baldwin and Sables-Spanish Rivers aged 55 years and over and those with disabilities for medical appointments starting July 8th.

Espanola CAO Joseph Burke says the vehicle is being decaled with the big reveal set for next week.

The van is adapted for wheelchair accessibility and will be providing transportation from the municipalities to medical appointments in Espanola and Sudbury.

Users are asked to register so schedules can be finalized with the forms available at the Espanola town hall.

Registration forms are available now from the Espanola Municipal Office, emailing town@espanola.ca or by calling 705-869-1540.
