New student trustees appointed by Algoma School Board

By Rosalind Russell – The Algoma District School Board will welcome three new student trustees for the 2025 / 2026 school year.

Board communications officer Fran Walsh says the two successful candidates for the student trustee positions are Liz Inglis from White Pines College and Vocational School in Sault Ste. Marie and Tatyanna Sauve from Elliot Lake Secondary School.

She adds the board also appointed Mercedes Pine-Edge from Superior Heights College and Vocational School in Sault Ste. Marie as the Indigenous student trustee.

Walsh adds all appointments become effective August 1, 2025.

Shey says the current student trustees; Addy McEachren, Cameron Ciotti and Indigenous Student Trustee Chair, Georgia-June Able, will complete their terms on July 31st.
