By Rosalind Russell – No action will be taken involving a Huron Shores councillor who resigned before the release of an Integrity Commissioner report.
Colleen Hannigan was not in attendance this week with the findings of her investigation into the actions of Councillor Roger Mulligan, but asked her report be read and posted publicly.
Mulligan resigned on Monday citing health reasons.
In her report, she states they considered several offences including repeated verbal disrespect towards municipal employees and public criticism of their work.
She says they also found he attempted to conduct municipal business through emails contravening the Municipal Act and also disclosed confidential information from a closed session of council.
She concluded that considering his resignation there is no further need to discuss the penalties that would have been imposed if he had remained an active member of council.
