ONE PERSON ARRESTED FOLLOWING BREAK AND ENTER

(SABLES-SPANISH RIVERS TOWNSHIP, ON) – One person was arrested following a break and enter in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.

On May 8, 2023, shortly after 2:00 a.m., members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter at a residence on Main Street in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.

Police attended and located one person inside the residence. This individual was subsequently arrested and transported back to detachment for processing.

As a result, Darwin FLAMAND, 29-years-old from Sables-Spanish Rivers Township was charged with:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 – two counts
  • Possession of schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Possession break in instruments
  • Disguise with intent

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on May 15, 2023.
