Pedestrian light now activated in Espanola

By Rosalind Russell – There is another traffic light in Espanola, this time set up for pedestrians.

Town Clerk Joseph Burke says the new pedestrian light has been set up at the intersection of Highway Six/Centre Street and the Queensway Avenue.

He says the light will allow for pedestrians to safely cross the main highway in the south end of town, one of the busiest sections on any given day.

Tim Hortons, McDonalds, and other retailers are in the area, as well as access to the Al Secord Trail, so the addition of the light is expected to slow down traffic and ensure the public’s safety.
