By Rosalind Russell – The Manitoulin OPP has launched a dedicated tip line in search for a missing Manitoulin Island woman.
According to the release, the OPP launched the dedicated tip line on December 23rd in the ongoing search for 30-year-old Juanita ‘Winnie’ Migwans, who was last seen October 2nd in M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island.
Migwans was reported missing on October 7th, triggering an extensive search by The United Chiefs and Councils of Manitoulin Anishnaabe Police, the OPP and supporting parties.
They also carried out extensive searches throughout the community, but the ongoing investigation has garnered few clues.
Police are urging the public to call with any information they might have in connection with Migwans.
The new tip line is 1-833-941-9010.
Migwans was last seen walking in M’Chigeeng on Highway 551 and Oakhill Drive on Oct. 2 at approximately 10:30 a.m.
She was wearing a light-coloured jacket and dark-coloured pants.
She is described as an Indigenous female, with a slim build, approximately 5-foot-6 (168 cm), 110 pounds (50 kgs) with brown hair and brown eyes.
