By Rosalind Russell – It is with great sorrow that the Greater Sudbury Police Services Board learned of Sudbury Councillor Michael Vagnini’s passing.
Board chair Al Zizer says Vagnini served multiple terms as both Chair and Vice Chair during his time on the Board, along with terms as Director on both the Ontario Association of Police Service Boards and Canadian Association of Police Governance.
He adds the board wishes to thank the Service, OPP, and North Shore Search and Rescue for their efforts to locate Vagnini since he was reported missing.
Zizer says they also extend their condolences to his family, friends, peers, and supporters.
Police, search & rescue, and volunteers had spent the last two weeks searching for Vagnini, who was found deceased on Tuesday.
The investigation continues.
