By Rosalind Russell – We’re less than two weeks away from election day in Ontario – and all eyes are focused on North Bay.
The four main party leaders are gathering at one this afternoon for the first of two debates.
The five large urban mayors are looking for support from the leaders on several issues.
They include four-lane highway expansions and more 2 + 1 highway commitments, Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment Hubs in each of their communities, 50 new physicians by 2027 and a Northern Talent Attraction Strategy to fill available jobs.
They’re also calling on all party leaders to commit to fair funding of housing enabling infrastructure and municipal police services.
The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities is hosting the debate.
Another leaders’ debate goes on Monday night.
