Radon Awareness Month focus of Elliot Lake campaign

By Rosalind Russell – A specialist in testing for radon says November is Radon Awareness Month and there will be an information session held in Elliot Lake.

Luc Lance, a specialist with the Radon Analytical Laboratory says radon is a naturally occurring colourless, odourless, tasteless gas that is radioactive, which occurs naturally throughout Canada, but can cause health issues including cancer.

He says an information session, Algoma Radon Testing, will be held next Monday, November 6th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Renaissance Seniors’ Centre.

He adds high radon gas levels may be a concern in some people’s home, so everyone is invited to learn about the history of radon gas and radon mitigation systems in Elliot Lake.
