Rare case of West Nile virus confirmed in Algoma 

For the first time in six years, Algoma Public Health says a human case of West Nile has been diagnosed in the district.

Chris Glibota, a Public Health Inspector, says it was diagnosed in Sault Ste. Marie.

He adds a crow also recently tested positive for the virus in the Soo.

Glibota is asking anyone who suspects they’ve contracted West Nile virus should contact their health care provider.
