By Rosalind Russell – The Robinson Huron Treaty Litigation Fund hosted a meeting of Anishinaabemowin Elders, language speakers and teachers at Rainbow Lodge in Birch Island on Monday, discussing the plans which will affect the 21 First Nations of the Robinson Huron Treaty territory.
Language revitalization was a common theme following community engagements discussing potential uses of the RHT compensation for collective community purposes.
Talks also focused on the legal fees’ agreement funds restored to the fund.
Planning will continue with sessions for more community engagements both on and off reserve.
