By Rosalind Russell – A date has been set for the funeral of Canada’s 18th Prime Minister, Brian Mulroney, but details still need to be finalized for the state funeral, which will be held in Montreal.
Mulroney died February 29th at a Florida hospital following a recent fall at his Palm Beach home. He was 84.
Parliamentarians are expected to pay tribute to him in the House of Commons when they return to Ottawa on March 18th after a two-week break, and the public will be able to pay their respects when he lies in state on Parliament Hill.
Details on the specific location for the funeral and more information about the public viewings are expected soon.
