By Rosalind Russell – The Manitoulin Detachment OPP is inviting the wider community to a “Stuff-a-Cruiser” event, held in honour of the late Provincial Constable Marc Hovingh.
A popular Manitoulin Island OPP officer, Hovingh was shot while on duty in 2020.
Constable Berkley Parisien says the event will take place next Tuesday, November 19th, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Mindemoya Foodland, (located at 11 Yonge Street in Mindemoya).
She says a police cruiser will be stationed at the front of the store, where OPP officers will be collecting non-perishable food items and pre-filled bags of food will also be available for purchase.
She says officers are looking forward help stock the shelves of the local foodbank to celebrate the life and legacy of Officer Hovingh.
