Town of Espanola hosting Truth and Reconciliation Gathering with Noojmowin Teg

By Rosalind Russell – The Town of Espanola and Noojmowiin Teg will be hosting a Truth and Reconciliation Gathering this coming weekend to the mark the National Day.

According to the release, the two invite the public to learn about Canada’s residential schools and the impact on the wider community as part of the healing journey for survivors this Saturday, September 30th.

The day will include teachings of the timeline and honouring survivors and families with a walk around the Oval at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex to remember those who did not return home.

There will also be information booths and activities throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anyone who is interested in attending is asked to register.
